Heart of America opened its first restaurant, The Iowa Machine Shed, in June of 1978. More than thirty years later, Heart of America now owns and operates seventeen restaurants that include three brands: The Machine Shed, Thunder Bay Grille, and Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse.
